Description
These are scissors that I took to this year’s Pacific Northwest Custom Invitational in Oregon. They are made true size from designs in a trade catalogue produced by F & W Hendricks in Solingen, Germany. Although exact dating is difficult, based on records kept at the archives of the Solingen Drop Forge museum I believe that the catalogue is from the inter-war period (c.1920 – 1928).
These embroidery scissors (pattern number 429) are fine and sharp, as is necessary for delicate work. This example has a low pivot point.
Steel – O-1
Overall length – 90mm
Blade length – 37mm
Gold plated screw.
