Description
These are scissors that I took to this year’s Pacific Northwest Custom Invitational in Oregon. They are made true size from designs in a trade catalogue produced by F & W Hendricks in Solingen, Germany. Although exact dating is difficult, based on records kept at the archives of the Solingen Drop Forge museum I believe that the catalogue is from the inter-war period (c.1920 – 1928).
These small cigar scissors (pattern number 1440) are used to snip the capped ends of cigars to open air channels which allow the cigars to be properly smoked.
Steel – O-1
Overall length – 90mm
Blade length – 20mm
Gold plated screw.
